The main-destination of the journey was actually El Hierro.

Because direct flights are not possible, we had been staying in Tenerife for a few days to visit three areas:
⭐ Anaga-Mountains
⭐ Masca-Gorge
⭐ Surroundings of the Teide
A place on the south coast served as a base for excursions:
Costa de Silencio
This place is not very touristy (compared to Playas de las Américas), offers an original beach,
but hardly any entertainment. The proportion of retirees is high.
Anaga-Mountains
The main viewpoints on the Anaga route are marked on the map:
The journey started at Tenerife North Airport (TFN) to the northeast. We went back
along the coast to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
A circular route is shown on the map - but we drove further south on the motorway to our accommodation.
Masca Gorge
Coming from the south, take the motorway to Santiago del Teide.
From here it goes on a narrow, winding road from one
wonderful vantage point to the next. Lack of parking space everywhere,
of course also in the Masca itself!
Masca Detail:
Many tourists take a bus to Masca with a tour operator and then walk down
the gorge to Playa de Masca, where they are
picked up in a chartered boat and brought back, for example, to Playas de las Américas.

Teide National Park
To get to the Teide, we recommend arriving via St. Lorenzo and Vilaflor
(small streets with many miradores). (Several routes with different viewpoints are possible.)
The return trip via TF-38 is much faster.
Electronic registration is currently mandatory for the ride on the cable car to the Teide.
We didn't have that and couldn't catch it up on site with the mobile phone.
On the second attempt, the weather was too bad and the cable car was therefore not in operation.
You only have 2 hours on the Teide! The return trip is pre-booked in advance.
That's just enough to go a little in one direction and a little in the other direction.
Alternatively, you can just do without the cable car and climb the volcano on foot.
An overview of the most beautiful miradores in the national park:
The ultimate mirador is ⭐ Cañada blanca. (Easy to find on the map above
in the knee of the TF-21. - View in the separate tab)
A recommended hike leads from ⭐ Boca Tauce to the Mirador de las
Nancel de Teide. The first section of this trail is particularly impressive.
Another hike with a constant view of the Teide leads from ⭐ El Portillo
to Fortalezza. To reach El Portillo, from the valley station of the cable car
(Teleférico del Teide), continue northwest on the TF-21.
